Hauntings
So it turns out that you don't have to be dead to be a ghost.
"Oooooh," he said. He rattled some chains. "Oooooh."
"It's four in the morning. I just woke up from a really unpleasant dream. About you. Could you just... not?" Abigail covered her head with a pillow.
"Remember that time it was cold and the battery to my car died so we cuddled in the passenger seat and wrote things in the frost on the windows while we waited for your dad to come give us a jump? Ooooooooh." He waved two sheet-covered arms around.
"Yes. Yes, I fucking remember. It was nice. And then dad took us out to get hot cocoa and when he went to the bathroom you put your hand on my leg and kissed me real quick. You acted all innocent when he came back and it was adorable."
"Oooooh! And how about how I'd play with your hair until you fell asleep when you were scared. Oooooh!"
"I want to sleep. I don't want to remember you! I don't want to remember the nice things that I can't have anymore!" She threw a teddy bear. It passed right through him.
"Oooooh! I know. Just imagine who I'm sleeping next to right now that's not you. Oooooh!"
"I'm calling an exorcist. No, I'm calling Ghostbusters. Actually, no, I'm sleeping with the first guy who comes along and I'm making you watch." It's hard to gauge emotion through a sheet with two holes cut out for eyes, but it looked like that worked. There was a long silence.
"It won't keep me away forever. Only time will do that. Ooh." He finally said.
"I know." He said nothing while she hugged her pillow and cried.
