| Bio: | So I'm a guy in my late twenties which is scaring me a little but that's just how it goes. I can't shake this feeling like I'm going to get a second chance someday. Like, eventually I'll do it all over - childhood, high school, etc. - except this time I'll know what I know now. Weird, right?
I have brown hair that I don't cut often enough so it can get awful shaggy. I don't shave a great deal. My ears sort of stick out and my nose is crooked from going facefirst into the bottom of a pool once when I was a teenager and then getting my face smashed at a death metal show pretty recently, but people continue to find me decently attractive. I think my eyes are nice.
I keep wandering between skinny and chubby, with bursts of exercise and healthy eating followed by periods of letting go. After some post-college blimping, I have yet to get all the way down to a weight that I'd consider healthy, but I've managed to avoid being too huge. Just a little paunchy.
I like to shop for clothes. I like to care about what I'm wearing and use it as a way of expressing myself, and so I do. It's become something of a hobby of mine.
I'm moderately creative. I like to write stories but I'm not a writer. I take photos but I'm not a photographer. I play instruments but I'm not a musician. I've given up on being some great author or whatever. I just do what I do for fun. I feel like my creativity really shines when playing roleplaying games, which isn't really a recognized art form but there you have it. Roleplaying games is one of my biggest hobbies, but I don't really do D&D. I actually like to play games that are about love and relationships, academia who swallow ancient Babylonian cockroaches, and teenagers who pilot giant dream mecha that are built out of their friendships.
I play video games and board games too. I wonder sometimes if I spend too much time distracting myself. So I try to balance it out with things like hiking or taking road trips. Oh and I love to cook. I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian but I mostly cook vegan for a lot of reasons. Vegan with a Vengeance is my favorite cookbook.
I'm a practicing Zen Buddhist whose commitment comes and goes in cycles, but it definitely informs my life. I practice at the Ithaca Zen Center. Maybe someday I'll be a monk. I don't know.
